Omschrijving
The assignment involves support for the construction of offshore substations.
Currently under consideration are: an artificial energy island (with offshore transmission infrastructure), multiple AC substations at 66kV & 220kV (the windfarms are to be connected at the 66kV level), and 6x 220kV AC export cable systems of ~50 km each. An EPC contract has been awarded to the consortium HSI (Smulders-HSM, Smulders & IV offshore) for the construction of 2 AC substations modules (1050MW) and 1 Facility module (warehouse, accommodation and general infrastructure).
Construction is ongoing in Vlissingen (Smulders) and Schiedam (Smulders-HSM). In summer 2026 the outfitting works will start on those yards. The Site Engineer reports to the Construction Manager, is dedicated to a specific site (Vlissingen or Schiedam), works in multidisciplinary teams, has technical ownership for issues during outfitting, supports the Construction Manager, coordinates inspections, reviews contractor documents, maintains internal systems, prepares weekly and monthly reports, acts as knowledge center for inspectors, aligns with the Engineering team, leads quality topics, and supports with diverse tasks.
Requirements: at least 3 years of relevant working experience, experience in offshore sector preferable, topside outfitting preferable, multiple disciplines on site is a must, Quality Control/Assurance experience is a plus, Engineering education (Electrical and/or mechanical), VCA VOL/SCC supervisor's certificate, excellent MS Office skills (Aconex is a plus), excellent communication and teamwork, working in team and structured, safety & quality mindset, quick learner, own PPEs, fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
Additional: Location Schiedam or Vlissingen, onsite presence 5 days a week / 8hrs a day minimum. For non-EU candidates, must comply with specific criteria.
