Volledige omschrijving

We are looking for an AI Technician (Assembly & Integration) for Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands in Leiden. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly and integration of high-tech aerospace hardware in accordance with detailed work instructions and quality standards. You will work in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the successful production of advanced space systems. The position requires a hands-on mentality, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality.

You will report to the Team Leader Assembly & Integration. Airbus is the largest aeronautics and space company in Europe, providing products, services and solutions for the commercial aircraft, helicopter, defence and space sectors. In The Netherlands, Airbus has multiple production and office sites, with over 250 FTE of staff combined. The majority of these employees focus on the delivery of hardware to the space industry (e.g. satellite solar arrays and launcher structures).

Airbus Netherlands operates as a cross-divisional entity and supports strengthening the connection between Dutch players and the various Airbus divisions. Key responsibilities include assembling and integrating aerospace hardware according to technical work instructions and quality procedures, performing mechanical assembly activities with a high level of precision and accuracy, using digital work instructions and production systems via tablets and other computer-based applications, carrying out inspections and ensuring all work meets the required aerospace quality standards, identifying and reporting technical deviations and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with fellow Assembly & Integration Technicians, engineers and the Team Leader to achieve project milestones, maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment in accordance with company procedures, and supporting testing and integration activities where required.

The ideal candidate has a hands-on and practical mindset with strong technical affinity, is accurate, quality-driven and able to work according to strict procedures, is a team player with good communication skills, is eager to learn and motivated to work in the aerospace industry, is proactive, reliable and able to work independently when required, and is comfortable working in a highly regulated production environment. Requirements include an MBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field, a minimum of 2 years of experience in an assembly or production environment, experience within the aerospace industry or a comparable high-tech manufacturing environment (preferred), basic computer skills and experience working with digital production systems or tablets, good command of both Dutch and English (spoken and written), and availability for 40 hours per week with willingness to work fully on-site in Leiden.
