Imagine your next project shaping the future of synthetic drug development. Analytical Development is a critical part of the Therapeutics Development and Supply (TDS) – Synthetics Development organization within Johnson & Johnson. Within the Analytical Method and Stability Center (AMSC), we focus on providing end-to-end support for synthetic drug substances and drug products in development, ensuring the successful progression of both small molecules and new modalities from clinical Phase 1 up to registration.

Our team provides analytical support and enables the seamless transition of innovative therapeutics through each phase of development. As an Associate Scientist, you will be essential in delivering analytical support for new molecular entities, including both small molecules and new modalities (e.g., therapeutic peptides, conjugates, and oligonucleotides), from clinical Phase 1 up to registration. In doing so, you will support method development and validation activities across the portfolio for both drug substances as drug products.

This will involve: performing analysis in support of product and process characterization, method development, validation, release, and stability, with a primary emphasis on liquid chromatography (LC) and physico-chemical characterization; developing fit for purpose LC and/or physico-chemical methods (e.g., Karl Fischer, titration) suitable to meet the Low-Level Reporting Threshold; ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory guidelines, analytical methods and specifications, GMP and safety; and scientific evaluation of generated results.

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in analytical sciences and hands-on expertise in method development.

You will also bring: a master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry or a related scientific field, or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3-years relevant industrial experience; general awareness of cGMP regulations and practical experience (considered an advantage); strong knowledge of and hands-on expertise in liquid chromatography (LC) and/or physico-chemical techniques (e.g., Karl Fischer, titration); knowledge of chromatography data systems (CDS), more specifically Empower and/or OpenLab; knowledge of physico-chemical methodology analysis software, e.g., Tiamo and/or Omnis; high-quality standards for experiments and accountability for the experiments and results; efficiency and dynamism with an ability to adapt to changing priorities in case of urgency; customer-focused and results-driven mindset; proficiency in English, both spoken and written; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player with a positive 'can do' attitude.

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run until 1/12/2027. Johnson & Johnson is working to create an inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences are valued and each and every one of our people feels that they belong and can reach their potential. Contribute to the next healthcare breakthrough with your next project at Johnson & Johnson. We are looking to process the first round of applications within the next 2 working days. We do not accept applications via email.
