Omschrijving

Our Luxembourg based client is an international engineering organisation developing advanced autonomous, navigation and robotic systems for complex aerospace and defence applications. They are looking for an Autonomy Software Systems Engineer to design, integrate and verify autonomous sensing and navigation solutions. The position combines systems engineering, navigation, sensor fusion, architecture, hardware/software integration and end-to-end verification. The role involves translating operational needs into system and subsystem requirements, designing architectures covering sensors, perception, navigation, state estimation, autonomy software and compute platforms, developing and integrating Kalman filtering, nonlinear estimation and multi-sensor fusion solutions, defining interfaces between navigation, computer vision, control, simulation and hardware, building and integrating hardware/software prototypes, defining verification strategies, performance metrics and test scenarios, conducting model-, software- and processor-in-the-loop testing, maintaining requirements, architecture and verification traceability, and supporting technical reviews and multidisciplinary engineering teams. The successful candidate should have experience in autonomous systems, navigation, robotics or complex hardware/software systems, a strong understanding of systems engineering, knowledge of Kalman filtering, state estimation and sensor fusion, understanding of guidance, navigation and control (GNC), experience with requirements engineering and system architecture, experience integrating software, sensors, hardware and simulation environments, working knowledge of C++ and/or Python, and experience with system testing and verification. Aerospace or defence experience is beneficial but not essential, and candidates from robotics, autonomous vehicles, drones or other complex autonomous systems are encouraged to apply. Desirable skills include ROS/ROS 2, SLAM, computer vision, Gazebo/Isaac Sim, embedded systems, MBSE, requirements-management tools and multi-sensor integration. Contract details: Location Luxembourg, working model hybrid/on-site, duration 12 months+ with potential extensions, contract freelance, start ASAP.
