Azure Platform Engineer — Databricks & Analytics Platform. This is the platform that data scientists and analysts across a large organisation log into every day to build and run their models — and you'd be one of the engineers keeping it fast, secure and pleasant to use. Architecture, Terraform and Databricks, with a clear brief: make the platform smarter, more flexible and better to work on. The users are internal and technical, so you'll hear quickly when something isn't right. Our client is a large financial organisation building out its advanced analytics and machine learning capability. You'll join the team behind its model development platform, working alongside DevOps engineers, business analysts, product owners and architects in a genuinely international setting — a range of nationalities across several teams, English as the working language throughout. The platform runs on Azure and Databricks and serves the whole organisation, which means scale and security constraints are real rather than theoretical. It's a regulated environment; secure-by-design isn't a slogan here. What you'll do: Architect scalable, secure and efficient data solutions on Azure Databricks and the wider Azure stack; work with stakeholders to turn what they're trying to achieve into something workable; ensure clean data integration across systems and tune workflows for performance; build and maintain Terraform to automate deployments and manage infrastructure; monitor and optimise CI/CD pipelines for performance and resource use; keep the platform's capabilities moving forward as the Azure landscape shifts. Tech stack — Core: Azure, Azure Databricks, Terraform, Azure DevOps CI/CD, data architecture. Also in the mix: Python, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation & monitoring. Must-haves: around seven years in a platform engineering role on large-scale analytics platforms in a security-conscious environment; real depth in Azure Databricks and data architecture; hands-on Azure cloud experience across compute, storage and access; Infrastructure as Code in production, Terraform preferred; CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps preferred; working familiarity with containerisation — Docker and Kubernetes — for deploying and managing data services. Nice to have: Python; Microsoft Azure certifications or equivalent. Good to know: a pre-employment screening is part of the process — standard for the financial sector; working language is English, Dutch is not required; you'll need a valid EU work permit or existing right to work in the Netherlands.
