Our client, a leading organization in the financial sector, is seeking an experienced developer to join their technical team. The role focuses on translating business requirements into functional and technical designs while maintaining robust backend software in a mainframe environment. Responsibilities include translating functional requirements into detailed technical designs and program structures, developing and maintaining backend software using mainframe technologies and modern development tools, creating and executing comprehensive test cases and performing technical integration testing, conducting self and peer code reviews, analyzing and resolving incidents and defects, and participating in a standby rotation.
Requirements include 5+ years of experience in backend development within a mainframe environment, solid technical expertise in COBOL, PL/1, EGL, and DB2, experience with development and versioning tools such as IDz workbench, Changeman, and GitHub, ability to translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, experience with Agile methodologies, proactive and analytical mindset, and fluency in Dutch and English.
Nice to have: experience in financial markets and investment banking.
Offer: start date ASAP, full-time, location Brussels, contract open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
