The client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a large-scale retail transformation programme focused on modernising store operations, point-of-sale (POS) capabilities, and the overall retail technology landscape. The Business Analyst will act as the primary business representative for one or more functional domains, ensuring strong alignment between business stakeholders, delivery teams, and solution providers. This role combines business analysis, stakeholder management, requirements engineering, solution validation, governance support, and change readiness activities.
Key responsibilities include: business workstream leadership (acting as business lead and SPOC, driving engagement, coordinating activities across phases, representing business priorities), requirements management (gathering, analysing, documenting, validating requirements, facilitating workshops, mapping processes, producing documentation such as BRDs, user stories, process flows, use cases, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, ensuring prioritisation and traceability), stakeholder management (building relationships, coordinating discussions, facilitating decision-making, escalating risks), solution design support (collaborating with architects, reviewing designs, assessing implications), governance & programme support (tracking decisions, preparing materials, supporting roadmap planning), testing & validation (defining acceptance criteria, coordinating UAT, validating processes, obtaining sign-off), and change & business readiness (assessing impact, identifying training needs, supporting deployment).
Required experience: essential - minimum 5 years as Business Analyst or similar, experience in large-scale transformation programmes, proven workshop facilitation, strong process analysis and documentation, excellent stakeholder management, ability to operate in complex environments, and experience translating business needs into requirements. Preferred - retail sector experience, understanding of retail processes (POS, merchandising, pricing, promotions, loyalty, reporting, analytics, master data, store operations, supply chain), and experience with retail platforms, ERP, omnichannel, or data initiatives.
