Omschrijving

Brunel is currently seeking a Civil & Structural (C&S) Construction SME Supervisor to support a major LNG expansion project in Kitimat, British Columbia. This role will be a key member of the Construction SME team, providing technical leadership and oversight across all civil and structural construction activities. The project scope includes modularized LNG processing facilities, associated utilities, cooling towers, LNG storage facilities, boil-off gas systems, and supporting infrastructure. As the owner's technical authority for civil and structural construction, you will work closely with EPC contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved work methodologies, engineering specifications, quality requirements, regulatory requirements, and HSSE expectations. You will play a key role in supporting constructability reviews, resolving construction issues impacting schedule, mitigating execution risks, and ensuring alignment between engineering intent and field execution.

Responsibilities include: serving as the discipline authority for civil and structural construction activities, including earthworks, piling, concrete, structural steel, foundations, drainage, and temporary works; participating in constructability reviews, workshops, and safety reviews; reviewing and validating constructability, design intent, and field execution strategies; reviewing Work Method Statements, Construction Work Packages (CWPs), and Installation Work Packages (IWPs); providing technical direction on site issues, RFIs, field changes, and non-conformances; ensuring alignment with design basis, codes, standards, and project specifications; monitoring construction progress and evaluating planned versus actual performance; proactively identifying EPC contractor bottlenecks; ensuring construction activities are executed in accordance with approved plans, procedures, specifications, and quality standards; acting as the interface between contractor field engineering personnel and the owner's construction team; supporting resolution of technical queries, field changes, and design deviations; identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities; conducting field audits and inspections; reviewing quality assurance and quality control activities; participating in Non-Conformance Report (NCR) investigations; ensuring compliance with HSSE requirements; promoting a safety-first culture; and working closely with engineering, construction, quality, project controls, and EPC contractor teams.

Requirements include a minimum of 15 years of hands-on Civil & Structural construction experience on major capital projects, a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or equivalent, strong knowledge of foundation and piling systems, reinforced concrete structures, structural steel erection, and earthworks, demonstrated project execution experience on greenfield and brownfield projects, strong understanding of construction sequencing and SIMOPS, demonstrated experience in constructability reviews, proactive issue resolution, and close collaboration with EPC contractors and multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication and relationship management skills are required, along with a passion for HSSE and Civil & Structural construction execution.
