Compliance Project Manager

Compliance Technology Project Manager / Product Owner.

Travel: Once a month.

Duration: 12 months + extensions.

Overview: We are looking for an experienced Compliance Technology Project Manager / Product Owner to support the delivery and evolution of a compliance technology capability. Initially, the role will have a strong project management and delivery focus, coordinating stakeholders, requirements, priorities and implementation activities. Over time, the role will evolve towards broader product ownership, roadmap development and compliance technology strategy.

Responsibilities: Project & Delivery Management: Lead the day-to-day delivery and coordination of compliance technology initiatives. Manage plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and actions across multiple stakeholders. Coordinate activities across Legal, Compliance, IT, Security, business teams and technology vendors. Establish clear governance, reporting and communication throughout delivery. Ensure requirements and agreed priorities are translated into deliverable outcomes.

Identify delivery risks and proactively drive resolution.

Compliance Technology & Requirements: Work closely with Legal and Compliance SMEs to understand regulatory, policy and operational requirements. Translate business and compliance needs into clear requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria. Support the assessment and prioritisation of technology enhancements. Work with technology teams to ensure solutions are aligned with business and compliance objectives. Support testing, validation, implementation and adoption of new functionality.

Change Management & Adoption: Support business readiness and adoption of new compliance technology and processes. Identify stakeholder impacts and areas of resistance or change. Coordinate communications, training and engagement activities where required. Work with business champions and SMEs to embed new processes and technology effectively. Monitor adoption and identify opportunities for further improvement. Product Ownership & Strategy – Evolving Scope: Progressively take ownership of the product vision, roadmap and backlog.

Help define the future direction of the compliance technology capability. Prioritise enhancements based on regulatory requirements, compliance risk, business value and user needs. Establish and monitor product KPIs, adoption and effectiveness. Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve compliance processes through technology. Contribute to longer-term compliance technology strategy and investment planning.

Requirements: Strong experience in Legal Technology, Compliance Technology, Regulatory Technology, GRC, Legal Operations or a closely related environment. Proven project/programme management experience delivering technology or business transformation initiatives. Experience working with Legal, Compliance, Risk or other regulated business functions. Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management experience. Ability to translate complex business, regulatory or compliance requirements into clear technology requirements.

Experience working with technology, product or implementation teams. Strong understanding of project governance, dependencies, risks, issues and delivery management. Experience supporting business change, adoption, training or process implementation. Comfortable working across both business and technology stakeholders. Strong communication, organisation and influencing skills. Agile/product delivery experience would be beneficial. Previous Product Owner experience is advantageous, but a pure Product Owner background is not essential.

Desirable: Experience owning or contributing to a Legal or Compliance Technology product roadmap. Exposure to GRC, regulatory compliance, legal operations, matter management, policy management or related technology. Experience working with SaaS/cloud-based compliance or legal technology platforms. Experience moving from project delivery into product ownership or product strategy. Understanding of regulatory change, risk, controls and audit requirements.
