Construction Manager – CAPEX Projects

Our client is a leading international food and nutrition organization with large-scale production facilities in the Netherlands, continuously investing in sites, infrastructure, technology, and production capabilities through complex CAPEX projects. We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead the construction execution of multiple CAPEX projects at a large industrial site in Bedum, ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.

The projects vary across departments, so adaptability is key. This is an interim position, initially for 9 months, with possible extensions up to a maximum of 2 years.

Start: ASAP. Responsibilities include leading on-site construction execution, managing contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, budget, and safety, coordinating with Engineering, Procurement, Operations and other stakeholders, managing site logistics, permits, inspections and quality processes, monitoring and reporting progress, identifying and resolving technical challenges, supporting Mechanical Completion and handover, and ensuring EHS compliance.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience), and 5–10+ years of experience managing complex industrial construction CAPEX projects.

Required skills: a strong track record of delivering construction projects safely, proven contractor management and site organization experience, strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, safety regulations and project controls, strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, results-driven and decisive under pressure, and clear, demonstrable project experience on your CV.
