- Proven experience in professional content writing, editing and proofreading, ideally within a travel or B2C environment.

As an extension of the Organic marketing team, the Content Writer role is responsible for producing high-quality and human-first travel content for the Booking.com blog. Booking.com is looking to partner with Content Writers who have genuinely explored the destinations they write about and can demonstrate an ability to translate those experiences into inspirational, helpful and engaging travel editorial. First-hand travel experience is the most important qualification for this role.
Applicants must be able to share examples of published work, portfolio clips or social media content that showcases their storytelling ability combined with real-world travel experience. Assignments may include incorporating travel expertise and advice into AI-generated articles, and checking contents for accuracy. Content Writers are expected to respond constructively to editorial feedback and collaborate effectively with Editors. It’s important to build strong working relationships with stakeholders in the Organic team.
Work is offered on an assignment-by-assignment basis according to business and editorial needs; the volume may vary and is not guaranteed.
Key responsibilities: produce high-quality travel content that is experience-led, engaging and aligned with Booking.com's editorial standards; translate first-hand travel experiences into compelling destination stories that inspire and inform travellers and specific audience types; write original B2C content from editorial briefs across a range of destinations, travel themes and content formats; respond constructively to editorial feedback incorporating revisions within agreed timelines; collaborate closely with key Organic stakeholders, including Editorial and SEO teams on briefs and content production; manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting effectively across different briefs, styles and tones of voice; adapt writing style for different audiences, destinations and English language variants (including British and American English where required); communicate clearly to report on individual capacity, priorities and deliverables; review, fact-check, edit and enrich AI-assisted content to ensure it meets Booking.com's quality and editorial policies; research topics, trends and article ideas for both editorial and product-led content; provide quality assurance and editorial review of AI-generated articles, and accept a personal authorship/editor attribution tag on those articles - including the continued use of your name on published content during and after your engagement.
