The CYBER SECURITY Guard and Diode Engineer is responsible for central system administration and configuration of Guards and Data Diodes to ensure continuing functionality and availability. Duties include hardware and software systems installation and configuration, implementation and verification of guards and data diode configuration to meet customer cross-domain data exchange requirements, adaptation of release markings and/or email attachment types, configuration of additional cross-domain flows, user and access management, monitoring system performance and availability, analyzing and troubleshooting application issues, development of automation scripts for daily system administration tasks, monitoring patch releases, testing new software and patches, supporting the A2SL process for approval of software updates, installing and configuring software and patch updates, developing SOPs and other documentation for repetitive activities, producing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for all implemented systems, providing technical support in troubleshooting infrastructure and operational issues, collaborating with other teams for successful resolution, and providing technical support and guidance to end-users for identifying issues in secure cross-domain data exchange.

Requirements: at least 3 years practical experience in cyber security or related field; extensive knowledge and experience (min 3 years) in Linux System Administration (preferred RedHat Enterprise Linux), Scripting/Automation (Bash, Python, Ansible), other boundary protection devices such as firewalls, system security including hardening and SELinux, system monitoring and troubleshooting, network protocols and traffic analysis, troubleshooting complex network security issues, LAN/WAN networking including protocol network architecture, and TCP/IP protocols and services.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised university in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience is required; alternatively, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by demonstration of particular abilities or experience of interest to NCIA, i.e. at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in related duties. Relevant certifications in cyber security such as CISM, CISSP or GIAC Security are required, along with understanding of Information Security Practices relating to the CIA triad.

Preferences include experience working for or supporting a military or governmental organization.
