Omschrijving
Data Center Technician (Contract) on behalf of a leader in high-speed networking systems, services, and software, located in Boardman, OR with an onsite working policy and a pay rate of $35 per hour W2. The technician will support a technical team working with optical transport and fiber optic infrastructure. Responsibilities include hands-on troubleshooting and testing of optical transport networks within a data center environment, supporting and maintaining optical line systems (OLS) including amplifiers, mux/demux, ROADMs, and transponders, and executing and interpreting optical tests such as power level measurements, insertion loss, span validation, and signal degradation analysis. The role uses optical test equipment such as OTDRs, optical power meters, VFL, optical spectrum analyzers, and light sources to isolate faults and validate repairs, and requires responding to alarms, incidents, and service-impacting events in accordance with SLAs. Required experience includes 3 to 5 years supporting optical networks, optical transport systems, or fiber-based infrastructure, hands-on experience with optical line systems in a production environment, strong experience performing optical testing and validation on live networks, proficiency using optical test tools including OTDRs, optical power meters, VFL, and spectrum analyzers, and ability to interpret test results to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
