Data Engineer – Azure & Power BI

Our client, a leading public sector organization, is seeking an expert to support the development of a national data platform. This role involves delivering end-to-end data solutions by building robust data pipelines and transforming raw data into actionable insights via strategic dashboards.

Responsibilities: Migrate and maintain existing data pipelines and data warehouse structures. Model data according to industry standards including Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault. Develop data processing logic using SQL and Python. Design and implement Power BI datasets, semantic layers, and operational dashboards. Translate business requirements into concrete visualisations and KPIs. Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to onboard new data domains and use cases.

Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a BI Developer with focus on ETL and reporting. 3+ years of experience as a BI Consultant. 2+ years of project experience with SQL. Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric or the Azure Data Stack, including Data Factory and Synapse. Extensive experience with Power BI, specifically building semantic models and dashboards. In-depth knowledge of data warehouse modeling principles like Kimball, Inmon, or Data Vault.

Experience with Git and versioning workflows. You possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree. You are native in Dutch.

Nice to Haves: Experience with Azure Data Factory and dbt. Knowledge of Python for data processing. Experience with requirements analysis. Experience with open-source solutions such as Apache products.

Offer: Start date: 02/11/2026.

Duration: Until 31/12/2027.

Work regime: Full-time.

Location: Antwerp.

Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
