Data Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the pharmaceutical sector, is seeking a professional to join their digital transformation initiatives within a high-tech production environment. This role involves developing and implementing advanced data solutions, including machine learning and AI applications, to optimize the quality and efficiency of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities: collect and process production data from sources such as process historians, MES systems, and sensors; develop robust data pipelines and analytical models using Python and SQL; design and implement Machine Learning models for predictive maintenance and anomaly detection; implement Large Language Model (LLM) applications for document processing and knowledge extraction; collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate digital solutions into operational value; document methodologies and results in compliance with GMP requirements.

Requirements: 3+ years of experience in a data science or analytical role; advanced proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation, including pandas, scikit-learn, and NumPy; strong skills in SQL for relational database management and complex queries; practical experience building and validating Machine Learning models for time-series and predictive analysis; knowledge of Large Language Models (LLM), including fine-tuning and prompt engineering; experience with IIoT data contextualization using AVEVA PI Asset Framework or Seeq; a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering; proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented; fluent in Dutch and English.

Nice to haves: experience in a GMP-regulated environment; knowledge of WERUM PAS-X or other MES systems; familiarity with DeltaV DCS or process control systems; experience using Cursor or Claude for code development.
