DevOps Engineer – Kubernetes & Terraform

Our client, a prominent research organization focused on environmental data, is looking for a specialist to support advanced earth observation systems. The role involves managing scalable cloud platforms and big data analytics infrastructures to process vast datasets from satellite and airborne sources. Responsibilities include supporting DevOps and project-specific requirements within complex cloud environments, maintaining and taking responsibility for the operational infrastructure alongside the engineering team, resolving configuration and infrastructure-as-code tickets for internal projects, deploying and supporting new components within the software stack and public cloud environments, analyzing complex system issues using monitoring, logging, and metrics to propose efficiency improvements, implementing security best practices throughout the infrastructure, and collaborating with IT architects and engineers to optimize software stack components.

Requirements include a Master's degree in applied IT, Industrial Sciences, or an equivalent technical field; 5+ years of experience with cloud applications on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; experience in Kubernetes environments and proficiency in writing Helm charts; experience with CI/CD, configuration, and automation frameworks including Terraform, ArgoCD, Jenkins, and Packer; experience in Linux native environments such as CentOS, RedHat, or Alma Linux; knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for cloud environments and general ICT infrastructure solutions; experience with virtualization technologies such as Docker, VMWare, or OpenStack and participation in migration trajectories; experience working in Agile or DevOps environments; being proactive, service-minded, and possessing strong analytical skills; and being Native in Dutch with a fluent command of English.

Nice to haves include experience with distributed processing tools like Apache Spark or Dask, knowledge of Python or Golang, and ability to take ownership of specific software stack components. The offer includes a start date of 01/11/2026, a duration of 6 months, a full-time work regime, location in Mol, a hybrid working model, and a contract open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
