Expert Data Analyst - Corporate Banking BI

A major Belgian bank in Brussels needs an Expert BI & Data Analyst to modernise Corporate Banking reporting — moving from legacy SAS/SQL, Alteryx and JavaScript/React stacks to a Power BI platform integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365, so Sales, métier and leadership teams get reliable, governed insights. Responsibilities include leading the strategic migration of Corporate Banking BI from legacy SAS/SQL/Alteryx stacks to Power BI, designing and enforcing a scalable Power BI architecture including Premium capacities and deployment pipelines, coaching and upskilling the team on advanced DAX, Power Query/M and reusable patterns, building dimensional models and governed datasets aligned with enterprise data standards, optimising ETL/ELT pipelines (SAS, SQL, Denodo and related tools) with data-quality controls, documenting datasets, workflows and naming conventions for discoverability and auditability, validating outputs with stakeholders and reducing technical debt during coexistence with legacy systems.

The role requires expert-level experience in leading end-to-end BI and reporting modernisation, designing scalable Power BI architecture, translating business needs into analytical data models, and owning source-to-target mapping and ETL/ELT pipeline quality. Technical must-haves include the Power BI stack (advanced DAX, Power Query/M, Premium capacities, deployment pipelines, XMLA endpoints), SQL, and data modeling (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, Power BI dataflows).

Preferable experience includes banking data and corporate banking reporting context, Agile delivery, guiding teams through BI/tooling transitions, and ETL tools (Alteryx, SAS, Denodo VQL, SSIS, Azure Data Factory).

Language requirements: English is mandatory (fluent in speaking, reading, writing); Dutch and French are preferable (fluent). Soft skills include an agile mindset, drive for results, risk awareness, team player, and clear communication. The estimated daily rate is €650-760 (Rivant market estimate, not a client rate card). The contract is for 8 months, starting 2026-11-16, with remote/telework allowed from Belgium only.
