Expert IT and Cyber Control & Compliance Officer

Expert IT and Cyber Control & Compliance Officer for a major Belgian bank in Brussels. The role is in Governance, Risk and Compliance. You develop, implement and maintain ICT and cyber controls so management can take sound risk decisions and demonstrate compliance internally and to the regulator.

Responsibilities: Analyse, identify and design ICT controls and drive their deployment; Coordinate and monitor execution of ICT controls and assure evidence quality; Test control effectiveness (sample or exhaustive) and advise on remediation; Report ICT control results to management, stakeholders and Internal Audit; Follow up remediation actions linked to these controls; Create and update processes and procedures for the control framework.

Business experience: End-to-end ICT process flows and control needs (Mandatory); Explain ICT control importance to business stakeholders (Mandatory); Reports, memos and presentations to senior management (Mandatory); Banking environment (Preferable).

Functional experience: Information Security and IT Process Controls management (≥5 years) (Mandatory); Control effectiveness testing and remediation follow-up (Mandatory); Process and procedure creation / updates for ICT controls (Mandatory).

Technical experience: IT and Security controls design, deployment and management (≥5 years) (Mandatory); IT / Security procedures and standards (Mandatory); Metrics definition and dashboarding for controls (Mandatory); Designing and implementing ICT process controls (Mandatory); Coordination across teams and external resources (Mandatory); Regulatory requirements and ISO/IEC standards (e.g. ISO 27001) and related frameworks (CHAPS, CIS, ANSSI) (Mandatory); Project management / coordination; Agile methodology (Preferable); Preferred certifications: ISO 27000 series, CISA, CISSP (Preferable).

Language requirements: French and English fluent (mandatory), Dutch good (optional).

Soft skills: proactive attitude, ability to deliver within deadlines, prioritise work, detail-oriented, analytical skills, challenge constructively, produce structured concise documents, excellent English writing for management and audit audiences, team player in a dynamic multicultural environment.

Education: Master's in IT, science or engineering with a strong ICT-control background, or equivalent experience; ICT Audit / ICT controls certification accepted.

Start date: 2026-10-19, duration 6 months, estimated daily rate EUR 720-850 (market estimate, not client rate card).

Location: Brussels (5 min walk from Central Station), hybrid ~50% on site / 50% homeworking, remote from Belgium only.
