Our client, a leading organization in the public safety sector, is looking for an Expert IT Project Manager to lead initiatives within their road safety program. The role focuses on planning, executing, and monitoring technical projects related to intelligent recognition systems to enhance operational effectiveness. The expert will define roadmaps and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure the timely implementation of strategic security solutions.

Responsibilities include: define and manage project scope, planning, milestones, and deliverables based on validated parameters; identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks through comprehensive monitoring and regular reporting to stakeholders; develop high-level roadmaps and strategic visions for road safety initiatives while ensuring alignment with long-term program goals; coordinate cross-functional teams, including software engineers, architects, and business analysts, to ensure technical excellence and project success; manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to maintain project momentum and quality standards; and implement project management best practices and documentation standards using JIRA and Confluence.

Requirements: 10+ years of hands-on experience in IT Project Management; expertise in Budget & Planning Management including resource allocation and roadmap development; advanced experience in Risk & Quality Management and implementing mitigation measures; proven track record in Vendor Management and coordinating with external service providers; strong proficiency in JIRA and Confluence for project tracking and knowledge sharing; strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a result-oriented mindset; proactive, structured, and capable of handling sensitive information with high levels of discretion and integrity; fluent in Dutch or French with active knowledge of English and passive knowledge of the other national language.

Nice to haves: experience in Change Management and organizing user training programs; previous experience working within the Public Sector; knowledge of camera connections and network infrastructure projects.

Offer: start date September 15, 2026; duration until end of 2026 (renewable); work regime full-time; location Brussels; working model hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite); contract open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
