Expert Scrum Master - Investments

A major Belgian bank in Brussels needs an Expert Scrum Master for investment-domain agile delivery. You are the reference for Scrum on the project team — facilitate ceremonies, coach the team and stakeholders, remove blockers, and can act as feature delivery owner when work spans multiple dependencies. Responsibilities include facilitating Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective and related meetings; scheduling and following the key steps of the Scrum methodology; helping the team clear obstacles and protect them from outside distractions; supporting the Product Owner on the Product Backlog and Definition of Done; tracking capacity and velocity for planning and progress; coaching and challenging the team toward self-organisation and continuous improvement; reporting on Scrum deployment and managing risks and issues; and acting as feature delivery owner when features span multiple dependencies.

Business experience: expert knowledge of agile methodology and techniques (e.g. Kanban) with ≥6 years relevant, mandatory; investment banking knowledge, preferable; experience working with hybrid teams, preferable.

Functional experience: set up and facilitate Scrum ceremonies and related meetings (Expert S4, mandatory); coach the project team and stakeholders on helpful agile interactions (mandatory); track team capacity and velocity; risk and issue management (mandatory); feature delivery ownership across multiple dependencies when needed (preferable).

Technical experience: agile reporting and follow-up tools (e.g. Jira) mandatory; understanding of automated unit/functional testing and continuous integration tooling mandatory; sound knowledge of software development methodology (mainframe preferable) mandatory; knowledge of project management methodology mandatory.

Language requirements: Dutch, French, and English (Fluent) are all mandatory with good to fluent speaking, reading, and writing. Soft skills include servant-leader stance, empathy, communication, pragmatic problem-solving, creating an environment of open feedback and trust, pro-active coaching, continuous improvement mindset, and being a team player.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent by experience. Start date 2026-10-19, duration 13 months.

Location: Brussels (5 min walk from Central Station), remote/telework from Belgium only. Estimated daily rate €680-800 (Rivant market estimate).
