Facility Engineer

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting the Topsides Engineering team to ensure timely delivery and close out of Engineering deliverables required to achieve project milestones (Quay Side Departure, First Oil and PRN). Responsible to support and provide coordination as required to Lesson Learned process as well as Operation Readiness activities including workshop, risk assessment and reviews. Facilitate technical alignment between engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.

Responsible for supporting resolution of site observation, commissioning and start-up finding where Engineering support and interface with SBM Rotterdam Engineering team is required. This includes supporting in-depth process related review of emerging issues and changes. Review of engineering designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation for completeness and compliance to the contractual basis of design. Manage design changes and ensure proper implementation through Management of Change (MOC) procedures.

Track and resolve technical queries, design clarifications, and engineering issues including interface issues between contractors and other parties. Monitor contractor engineering performance against contractual requirements. Support engineering close out, operational readiness and handover activities to operations.

Requirements: Must be located in Netherlands, and willing to travel as required. Process or Facilities Engineer with min. 5 years of experience. Problem solving, analytical thinking, autonomous, self-driven and resourceful to drive task to completion with moderate supervision and guidance from Facilities Lead are mandatory. Good communication and time management/prioritization competencies are mandatory. Experience with navigating 3P contractors and providing Engineering support in Start-Up/Commissioning phase will be advantageous.

Project experience with Deep Water and FPSO design will be advantageous. Able to develop and maintain the interface with various interface internal and external parties supporting Project (Topsides Engineering, SURF, Commissioning and Construction, Contractor and Operations.
