Our client is a leading organization in the pharmaceutical industry with an established site in Haarlem (North Holland). They operate in a highly regulated environment where engineering quality, safety, and compliance are critical to successful project delivery. We are looking for a Facility Lead to support a High Potent Secondary Packaging project at a pharmaceutical site in Haarlem. The project will convert and expand existing facilities to create a dedicated high potency secondary packaging area, including new production/support spaces, HVAC systems, utilities, and associated building modifications to support GMP operations.
In this role, you will take ownership of the facility engineering scope and coordinate delivery from concept/design through procurement, construction, commissioning/qualification, and handover. This position requires on-site presence minimum 3 days per week (hybrid working possible). Responsibilities include leading delivery of facility engineering scope including CSA, HVAC, black utilities, fire protection, and associated building systems; supporting development and review of facility concepts, Basis of Design, and detailed design deliverables; coordinating facility engineering activities across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, qualification, and turnover; reviewing and approving design documents, calculations, technical specifications, and vendor deliverables; ensuring compliance with Dutch regulations, internal engineering standards, GMP, and EHS requirements; participating in constructability reviews, risk assessments, PHAs, GMP reviews, and safety assessments; coordinating interfaces with process equipment, utilities, automation/digital systems, and site operations; supporting commissioning, qualification, operational readiness, and handover activities for facility systems; collaborating with engineering partners, contractors, Quality, EHS, Operations, and Procurement teams; maintaining documentation in project document management systems and supporting reporting requirements; owning assigned workstreams and driving timely resolution of technical issues and project risks.
Requirements include experience delivering facility/infrastructure engineering scope in an industrial environment (preferably pharma/biotech); strong understanding of at least one discipline (CSA / HVAC / utilities / fire protection) and ability to coordinate across disciplines; experience working in a regulated environment with GMP expectations and strong documentation discipline; strong stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills; and willingness to work on-site in Haarlem minimum 3 days/week.
Preferred qualifications include experience with high potency manufacturing/packaging facilities, experience with facility commissioning/qualification/validation in pharma/biotech, familiarity with Dutch regulations relevant to facility engineering, and project or team leadership experience.
