Freelance Business Analyst

Vivid Resourcing is looking for a hands-on Freelance Business Analyst in Brussels to help evolve and simplify its client's business processes and IT landscape. The organisation uses SAP as its core system, alongside a range of CRM and other business applications, and is exploring a possible future migration to SAP S/4HANA. This role sits right between Business and IT and helps shape how those systems and processes work together. The successful candidate will analyse business needs and translate them into clear IT requirements, then follow requirements and smaller IT initiatives from analysis through to implementation.

A large part of the role is investigative. You will work independently across different ERP, CRM and business systems, work out how they operate today and identify how they can be improved, simplified or better connected. This is not a traditional, documentation-only BA role. Our client is looking for someone curious and proactive who challenges existing processes, asks the right questions and brings ideas of their own, including opportunities around automation, AI, Cloud and wider digitalisation.

SAP experience is an advantage, but a broad interest in business systems and a willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies matter more. The assignment starts in January 2027 on a hybrid basis, split evenly between the Brussels office and home.

Main responsibilities include: analysing business needs and translating them into clear IT requirements; acting as the bridge between Business and IT; helping simplify and improve existing business processes; working independently across ERP, CRM and other business systems; following up requirements and smaller IT initiatives from analysis through to implementation; identifying opportunities around automation, AI, Cloud and digitalisation; challenging existing ways of working and suggesting new, practical or out-of-the-box solutions; and supporting the organisation's thinking around a potential future move to SAP S/4HANA.

Essential requirements are: experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in an ERP environment; comfort communicating with both business and IT stakeholders; curiosity and analytical skills with confidence working things out independently; a hands-on mentality and willingness to get involved beyond traditional BA activities; comfort learning and experimenting with unfamiliar systems and technologies; a proactive approach; and the ability to work on site in Brussels 50% of the time.

Desirable requirements include SAP experience, exposure to SAP S/4HANA or ERP migration projects, experience with CRM systems or other business applications, and interest in automation, AI, Cloud or digitalisation initiatives. The offer is a freelance assignment based in Brussels, Belgium, starting in January 2027, with hybrid working (50% on site, 50% from home), a broad hands-on role across ERP, CRM and business systems, and room to influence process simplification and future-facing initiatives.
