Freelance DevSecOps AI Engineer (ZZP)

Development Services is an international/global team. Our vision is to enable development teams to adopt Standardized Platforms, Pipelines and DevX across all teams. As a member of Development Services team, you will be interacting very closely with product development teams, in different regions across the globe. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevSecOps Engineer with AI expertise to help drive secure software delivery, AI-enabled application security, and DevSecOps automation across enterprise engineering platforms.

The role will focus on integrating AI-assisted security controls into CI/CD pipelines, improving software supply chain security, implementing AI-powered code scanning capabilities, and enabling secure adoption of AI development platforms such as GitLab Duo Agentic Platform and related AI engineering capabilities.

Key responsibilities include: designing and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines; integrating security, testing, and compliance controls into development workflows; promoting DevSecOps best practices and secure software delivery; ensuring alignment with organizational standards, regulations, and audit requirements.

For AI-powered application security: implementing AI-assisted code scanning and security review capabilities; evaluating and integrating AI security tools into the SDLC; supporting secure coding practices and vulnerability identification; defining guardrails for AI-enabled software development. For software supply chain security: implementing SBOM and software composition analysis practices; strengthening dependency, package, and artifact security; improving vulnerability management and supply chain risk controls.

For AI security & governance: establishing controls for secure and compliant use of LLMs and AI tools; supporting AI governance, monitoring, auditing, and policy enforcement; enabling secure AI adoption across engineering teams. For automation & platform engineering: automating security, compliance, and remediation processes; driving platform standardization and engineering efficiency; collaborating with Security, Architecture, Risk, and Development teams.

For enablement & collaboration: supporting platform onboarding, migrations, and adoption initiatives; delivering training and guidance on GitLab, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices; promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams. Relevant knowledge skills & competences: strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD; 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or DevSecOps; proven experience implementing CI/CD platforms at enterprise scale; hands-on experience with application security and vulnerability management; experience integrating security controls into software delivery pipelines.

Technical skills include GitLab CI/CD, SAST, DAST, SCA, Vulnerability Management, Secure Software Development Cycle, Supply Chain security, SBOM, GenAI, AI-assisted coding tools, LLM security concepts, AI governance & guardrails, and agentic workflows & automation frameworks.
