Freelance - Infrastructure Security and Network Engineer. As an Infrastructure Security & Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise network and security infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. You will combine hands-on engineering with security monitoring, automation, project delivery, and stakeholder collaboration to strengthen the organization's overall security posture.

Our client is an internationally operating technology-driven organization with a complex and highly connected IT landscape. As Infrastructure Security & Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the organization's network and security infrastructure. You will work closely with various IT teams to ensure systems remain secure, available, and aligned with business requirements.

Key responsibilities include: Managing and supporting enterprise network and security solutions. Monitoring security controls, analyzing incidents, and escalating risks where required. Leading and delivering infrastructure and security improvement projects. Implementing, integrating, and upgrading security technologies. Supporting cloud security initiatives within AWS environments. Driving automation and orchestration to improve operational efficiency.

Performing vulnerability management and supporting remediation efforts. Providing technical expertise and guidance on security-related topics. Collaborating with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to improve service delivery and security maturity. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of networking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity expertise and is comfortable working in an international enterprise environment.

Requirements: Minimum 5 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in a similar security and network engineering role. Strong experience with network security technologies and enterprise networking. Experience with AWS cloud environments. Knowledge of SIEM platforms such as Splunk or similar solutions. Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus. Strong understanding of Active Directory and identity management concepts. Experience with Linux environments, scripting, and automation (Python, Shell).

Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking, troubleshooting, and traffic analysis. Hands-on experience with Cisco security technologies, including ASA, Firepower, ISE, Umbrella, and related solutions. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Nice to have: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar platforms. Exposure to penetration testing and ethical hacking practices. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
