Volledige omschrijving

Want to help build the technical foundation of a new European PropTech platform? We're looking for a hands-on Freelance Platform & Integration Engineer to take a greenfield project from proof of concept to production. You'll have the freedom to shape key technical decisions, build the infrastructure and integration backbone, and make a real impact from day one. Where will you be working? Our client is developing a unified property and asset management platform designed to operate across multiple European countries.

With the project officially approved, the focus is now shifting from proof of concept to full implementation. You'll join a compact, senior team where quality, ownership and practical problem-solving matter. The environment offers plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to help shape a platform from its earliest stages. What are your core tasks? As a Platform & Integration Engineer, you'll be responsible for establishing the technical foundations that the rest of the programme will build upon.

You'll transform the existing Azure proof of concept into production-ready development, test and production environments. This includes infrastructure as code, private networking, CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring and automated regression testing. You'll also take ownership of the event-driven integration backbone, covering event streaming, schema registries, iPaaS, API management, contract versioning and reliable message handling. As the programme evolves, your scope will expand into identity management, single sign-on, platform security and further integrations across core systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll combine technical expertise with architectural thinking. You'll be expected to make informed decisions, communicate trade-offs and turn ideas into working solutions. What are we looking for? 4–8 years of engineering experience across multiple technologies or stacks. Strong hands-on experience with Azure Platform Engineering, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD. Experience with event-driven architectures and integration technologies such as Kafka or equivalent.

Knowledge of iPaaS solutions, API Management and integration patterns. Understanding of platform security, identity management, SSO and datalakes/lakehouses. Working knowledge of at least one programming language: TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Strong communication and consultancy skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders. Fluent English and a proactive, adaptable mindset. You're comfortable taking ownership and working beyond a single technical specialism.

What do we offer? Freelance assignment for an initial 4–5 months, with potential for extension. Opportunity to shape a greenfield PropTech platform with international ambitions. High level of autonomy and ownership over key technical decisions. Work alongside a compact, experienced engineering team. Hybrid working from the Netherlands, with on-site collaboration in Amsterdam or The Hague when needed. Potential for future assignments following successful delivery.
