Full Stack DevOps

We’re looking for a Scale-up Full-Stack DevOps who loves clean Python code, scalable cloud setups, and thrives on the freedom to actually build things right. At our company, you’ll help to shape our core architecture, implement practical AI automation, and work in a team that prioritises real trust over micromanagement.

Location: Brussels. Remote location possible (this overrules the stipulation in the Framework contract that “The Freelancer undertakes to provide the Services at the premises of the Customer …”).

Task objectives: The Full Stack Developer & DevOps is primarily responsible for the technical development of part of our applications and services by: supporting the lead in the tech build, including APIs / user experience, front and backend systems, data platforms, and overall architecture in close collaboration with the IT Lead; acting as senior advisor to our teams to define the best technologies, tools and architectures for each project and venture; support business analysis with technical input; identifying and systematically deploying best practices to ensure sustainable scalability of the applications, in particular making each module an asset for the following ones, ensuring our developers work like craftsmen and documenting the code produced; AI based regression testing.

Task deliverables & milestones: Maintenance/development of python web services; maintenance, development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines; work in collaboration with other IT team members for service communication; support other teams like risk and data analytics by creating custom solutions and automate some of their tasks; co-create processes and workflow by giving a technical insight and advising for the best long term solution.

Desired hard skills: Backend: Python ^3.10, FastAPI, Celery, SQLModel and Pydantic, Pydantic AI, sqlalchemy, black, flake8, Git, Alembic, Postgresql, JWT, RestAPI, Programmatical usage of AI models, Wordpress administration, plugin/theme development.

DevOps: Gitlab CI/CD, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker.

Cloud Architect / Sysadmin: Google cloud platform, GKE, Compute engine, IAM, Secret Manager, Monitoring, Bigquery, Storage, Cloud SQL, Error reporting / Logging, VPC network, Vertex AI, Linux, Nginx, Wireguard, ufw / iptables.

FrontEnd (nice to have): Typescript, Nextjs, NPM, ESLint, Prettier, Husky, Git.

Desired experience: Successful experience as full-stack developer in a startup environment. Very good Python, cloud architecture and deployment skills. Team player. Outstanding execution across frontend & backend environments. Experience with data architecture is a plus. Highest level of professional and intellectual integrity. Can handle success and failure, positive feedback as well as critique. 80/20, structured self-starter with strong drive.

Can perform independently (we do not micromanage our developers) and deliver consistent quality work according to established best practices. Understanding of B2B trade is a plus, of trade credit insurance is a nice-to-have. We prioritize selecting the best technology for each project and are keen to learn new skills accordingly.
