Functional Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to support complex digital projects within a public-sector and security-focused environment. The role is part of a major Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) program aimed at modernizing fingerprint and facial recognition capabilities and improving identity verification processes.

Key Responsibilities: Analyse and model business and end-user requirements. Gather, document and prioritize functional requirements. Write detailed functional specifications. Perform AS-IS / TO-BE and impact analysis on existing systems and processes. Model business processes, workflows and functional solutions. Work closely with developers to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements. Define and follow up on functional and non-functional testing.

Act as the main point of contact for assigned functional topics. Support user training and documentation when required.

Technical Environment: Functional Analysis: UML, BPMN, process modelling, prototyping.

Tools: Jira or Azure DevOps, Enterprise Architect, Visio/Draw.io, Microsoft 365, Teams.

Data: SQL, SQL Server/MySQL, advanced Excel.

Testing: Functional testing, UAT and test management/automation tools.

Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, SAFe.

Additional knowledge: APIs, Azure/AWS, Git, Jenkins and basic DevOps/CI/CD. Knowledge of IT security, ISO standards and compliance is an advantage.

Profile: The ideal candidate has strong experience in Business/Functional Analysis, requirements management and process modelling, with the ability to act as a bridge between business users and technical teams. Strong communication, stakeholder management, autonomy and a user-oriented mindset are essential.
