Functional Analyst – Data & Analytics

Our client, a prominent organization in the transport and logistics sector, is looking for a specialist to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions. The role focuses on analyzing analytical needs, documenting functional requirements, and designing data pipelines to improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities: Analyze business needs and translate them into functional specifications and use cases for data pipelines and reporting. Provide recommendations on reporting techniques using mockups, proof-of-concepts, and industry best practices. Develop and manage roadmaps by collaborating with data users and suppliers across various departments. Assist development and testing teams in translating functional requirements into validated data assets.

Document solutions and maintain up-to-date technical documentation to ensure architectural alignment. Coordinate with data owners and architects to ensure all solutions comply with the existing business and system architecture.

Requirements: 5+ years of experience in a similar position such as Functional Analyst or Application Owner. Proven experience with the Azure data estate. In-depth knowledge of analysis techniques including use cases and scenario creation. Experience working within Agile Scrum environments. You possess a Master’s degree. You have knowledge of transport operations within the railway or public infrastructure sector. You possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

You are methodical, precise, and proactive with strong problem-solving abilities. You are fluent in Dutch or French at a C-level with B2 level proficiency in the other language and English.

Nice to Haves: Willingness to explore new reporting methodologies and visualization tools.

Work regime: Full-time.

Location: Brussels.

Working model: Onsite (up to 5 days per week).
