Functional Tester

We are looking for a Functional Tester to join a multidisciplinary team responsible for the development and evolution of digital applications supporting administrative and business processes. The main focus of the role is the functional validation of application enhancements, integrations and redesigns. You will work closely with Project Managers, Business/Functional Analysts, Developers, Business Experts and Key Users to understand business processes and ensure that delivered applications meet functional requirements and user expectations.

The position is currently primarily focused on manual and functional testing. Test automation will be introduced progressively as the applications and projects mature.

Key responsibilities include: analysing functional specifications, change requests and user requirements; developing a strong understanding of the underlying business processes to ensure appropriate test coverage; designing, documenting and maintaining test scenarios and test cases; preparing the test data required for testing campaigns; verifying that functional requirements and specifications have been correctly implemented; executing functional, regression and integration tests; identifying, documenting and tracking defects through to resolution using Jira; collaborating closely with Business Analysts, business stakeholders and development teams to investigate and resolve issues; participating in testing activities and the validation of application releases; performing API and web service testing using SoapUI, Postman or similar tools; ensuring test traceability and contributing to the overall quality of delivered applications; contributing to the continuous improvement of QA and testing processes; and progressively participating in the implementation and maintenance of automated tests using Playwright as the applications mature.

Technical skills required: strong experience in functional and manual software testing; experience designing and executing test scenarios and test cases; good knowledge of regression and integration testing; experience with defect management and Jira; experience with API/Web Service testing; knowledge of Postman and/or SoapUI; knowledge or experience with Playwright is an advantage; and understanding of test automation principles and methodologies.
