Join Brunel as Senior Ground Control Engineer in St John. Responsibilities include supporting execution and continuous improvement of site-specific Ground Control Management Plans across open pit and underground operations; leading geomechanical risk assessments for Life of Mine (LOM) plans; developing and maintaining ground control, seismic, and stability risk management plans; providing technical recommendations for pit walls and underground excavations; participating in audits and reviews; responding to ground control issues and incidents; monitoring and verifying ground support quality; installing and maintaining monitoring instrumentation; coordinating with Mine Operations and Planning teams; delivering hazard awareness training; and leading investigations of major ground instability events. Requirements include a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining preferred), a Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) required, minimum 4+ years of underground mining experience, strong technical understanding of ground control and geomechanics, experience with ground control software (Deswik experience considered an asset), proven risk assessment ability, strong communication and stakeholder skills, and ability to work in a site-based fly-in fly-out environment.
