Head of Data Governance and Data Architecture

The company is a leading asset management organization committed to building a robust data-driven environment to support responsible AI and ensure trusted data practices across its operations. We are seeking an experienced Head of Data Governance and Data Architecture to lead the development and execution of data governance strategies within the organization. This key leadership role involves guiding a multidisciplinary team to establish a clear, scalable, and trustworthy data landscape that supports innovative AI initiatives and compliance.

Responsibilities include leading the team responsible for implementing and operationalizing data governance frameworks across the organization; developing and embedding governance foundations to ensure data is well-defined, owned, traceable, and of high quality, supporting responsible AI use; connecting established data governance practices with AI governance needs, including data ownership, lifecycle management, metadata, lineage, quality, and oversight; collaborating closely with senior stakeholders such as Data Owners, Data Stewards, AI Leads, Business Owners, Data Management, and Legal teams to create clarity and alignment; ensuring data architecture supports governance outcomes and aligns with enterprise standards and decisions; overseeing aspects of data architecture and modelling, ensuring they support governance objectives; driving a transformation from fragmented data practices towards a transparent, scalable, and governed data environment; and leading a team with expertise in data governance, metadata, data quality, business analysis, architecture, and modelling.

Requirements include proven experience in leading data governance and data architecture initiatives; strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data lifecycle controls; experience supporting AI governance and responsible data use; ability to work strategically and practically, guiding teams and stakeholders effectively; and excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with experience working with senior management.
