Information Governance Officer

Vivid Resourcing is working with a public sector organisation seeking an experienced Information Governance professional to join its team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior candidate with strong expertise in Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and Subject Access Requests to take ownership of a varied caseload and support the team in managing ongoing demand. The role involves managing FOI, EIR and Subject Access Requests from receipt through to final response, applying relevant exemptions and exceptions, including conducting Public Interest Tests where required, undertaking Internal Reviews and helping to reduce an existing backlog, supporting the management of Data Protection complaints, managing an independent caseload and issuing responses on behalf of the organisation, and working collaboratively with a small team to manage requests across multiple departments.

The contract is initially for 6 months, with a competitive rate with flexibility for stronger candidates, start date ASAP, flexible working pattern with no mandatory office attendance. Senior-level experience in FOI, EIR and Subject Access Requests is essential; local authority experience is desirable but not essential. The organisation handles approximately 200 FOI requests and 50 Subject Access Requests each month, making this a great opportunity for an experienced professional who can confidently manage a busy caseload and contribute to improving response times.
