Volledige omschrijving
Vacature Inspector Structural and Welding -Structural / Welding / Coating / Mechanical
About TenneT, the Unit, Department and Team TenneT is a leading European Transmission System Operator and plays a key role in the energy transition. With more than 23,500 km of high-voltage connections and nearly 5,000 employees, we ensure a safe and reliable electricity supply in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany.
You will be working within one of TenneT’s project organizations responsible for the realization of large-scale infrastructure offshore projects, the 2GW Program. Within this environment, you will collaborate closely with package leads, quality coordinators, engineering disciplines and external (sub-) contractors, suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements throughout the manufacturing phase. The activities within this role contribute directly to the modernization, expansion and sustainability of the Dutch high-voltage grid.
Introduction At TenneT, we are working on the electricity grid of tomorrow. As an Inspector (Structural / Welding / Coating / Mechanical), you play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of vendor-manufactured equipment and components that support a future-proof energy system. Through your expertise, you directly contribute to projects that keep the Netherlands powered today and in the future.
Large Projects Offshore (LPO): Based on the Energy agreement, where the targets and intentions for the transition to a more renewable energy supply are set, the Roadmap Offshore wind energy 2030 and the ambition to realise additional windcapacity prior to 2030 a roll-out strategy is being prepared for the medium term, including the IJmuiden Ver (DC) projects. This results in a commitment for TenneT to realise at least 2x (with potential up to 5) 2GW HVDC Grid Connection Systems which bring the power from offshore wind-farms in the North sea to the Dutch electricity grid to be commissioned between 2028 – 2030.
The 2GW program: Europe’s energy transition is among the greatest challenges of our time.
Its goal: To make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 at the latest. The Netherlands and Germany have therefore set themselves ambitious goals to expand offshore wind energy: as early as 2030, Germany and the Netherlands want to reach a capacity of 30 and 22.2 Gigawatts, respectively. Energy from offshore wind farms in the European powerhouse North Sea will play in this a crucial role. TenneT guarantees that this energy will reach the mainland – and in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
That is why we have developed the 2GW program with a unique transnational approach. And thus increase the pace and efficiency of the energy transition.
Tasks and responsibilities: Your responsibilities include: – Supporting Package Leads (SPL) and the QC Coordinator in reviewing quality deliverables such as as-built documentation, punch lists and other vendor documentation against Employer’s Requirements. – Supporting structural, welding, coating and mechanical disciplines with quality-related issues and documentation. – Monitoring the execution of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) as specified in Inspection Notifications during the vendor manufacturing phase. – Performing welding, coating, mechanical inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) on behalf of TenneT based on a risk-based inspection schedule. – Facilitating and supporting remote inspections through video connections and digital inspection tools. – Reporting and monitoring quality-related issues, including NCRs and open points. – Monitoring the implementation of Employer’s Requirements related to welding, coating, piping and materials. – Aligning closely with the TenneT QC Coordinator regarding inspections, ITPs and quality issues. – Travelling frequently to vendor construction and manufacturing locations across Europe. – You will work closely with project teams, package leads, quality coordinators, contractors and vendors to ensure the required quality standards are achieved.
Good to know: – The role requires frequent international travel (2-3 times per month), mainly in Europe, to vendor and contractors sites, with possible weekend travel, while maintaining the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. – Team: international, diverse, with a flat hierarchy. – Experience with 3/4 disciplines (Structural / Welding / Coating / Mechanical ) is required. – The rate depends on the expertise and skills of the candidate.
