This is a genuinely international field role. You will travel to shipyards, ports and vessels worldwide to carry out installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work.
Responsibilities include travelling internationally to vessels, shipyards and marine service locations; carrying out installation, maintenance and repair of marine mechanical equipment; working on shaft-line and propulsion-related systems; servicing and replacing mechanical seals and bearing components; supporting installation and maintenance of couplings and associated equipment; carrying out fault finding and diagnosing mechanical problems; supporting shaft alignment, mounting and mechanical installation activities; assisting with retrofit and repair projects; working to tight tolerances and technical procedures; completing service reports and communicating technical findings to customers and internal teams; and responding to planned maintenance activities as well as urgent service requirements.
Required qualifications: strong hands-on mechanical engineering or mechanical service background; previous experience in marine, shipbuilding, heavy machinery, rotating equipment, mechanical installation or similar; strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with bearings, seals, shafts, couplings or other rotating equipment; able to work in challenging customer and shipyard environments; comfortable with significant international travel; strong safety awareness; full driving licence and passport suitable for international travel; English is mandatory; right to work in the EU is mandatory.
Marine experience would be a strong advantage, particularly exposure to propulsion systems, shaft lines, stern-tube seals, bearings, mechanical alignment or shipyard work. The underlying business works on marine propulsion and shaft-line systems including stern-tube seals, intermediate shaft bearings, thrust bearings, couplings and related mechanical services. Its service operation includes planned docking work, emergency repairs, installation, alignment and on-site machining, with technicians supporting vessels internationally.
