IS Life Solution Architect

Our client is looking for an IS Life Solution Architect. Within the IS Life division, the Architecture team provides its IT expertise and support across a wide range of areas and strategic initiatives supporting Life Insurance within our client in the insurance sector. The projects we work on aim to improve operational efficiency (OPerational EXcellence), enable the modernization of our historical platforms, but also achieve technological innovation within our critical assets, assets used by our clients (such as MyAG), by intermediaries (such as One Platform, Medifi), but also by our Operations teams (Lisa, LK, LEO).

We are responsible for developing our platforms, but also for integration with our preferred partners (BNPPF; BVB; Portima). In this highly diversified context, we are looking for a Solution Architect who would like to help us design and create the solutions to be implemented for the many ongoing and upcoming initiatives. As a Solution Architect within IS Life, you design end-to-end solutions aligned with business needs and architecture principles, and support their implementation.

You are involved from the launch of projects through to production, ensuring alignment between all stakeholders. You will work in a hybrid landscape: a large part of the applications still run in a COBOL Microfocus environment, and in parallel we are fully engaged in modernization and moving towards .Net and Angular environments while applying Domain Driven Design architecture principles.

Mission Period: Expected Start date 15/09/2026, duration 12 months (extension possible).

Language Requirement: English (mandatory), Dutch (mandatory), French (mandatory), with levels indicated (3 = fluent, 1 = basic).

Localisation: Brussels centre.

Level of Education Required: N/A.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Personal skills (mandatory): Solution-oriented, able to synthesize large quantities of information, creative and flexible.

Business experience (mandatory): Solution Architect — Mid-level (2y-5y), Functional Designer — Mid-level (2y-5y); preferable: Life Insurance.

Technical experience (mandatory): Domain Driven Design (DDD) concepts and asynchronous integrations, interest in technological innovation; preferable: ArchiMate, .NET, Angular, COBOL.

Objective of the Job: Solution design, connection between Business and IT, alignment between stakeholders, governance and documentation, defining short-, medium- and long-term vision, challenging and validating solutions, considering costs, daring to question things, ensuring architecture standards are followed.
