IT System Engineer – Brussels – Freelance 12 months+.

About the Client: Our client is a large healthcare organisation based in Brussels with a complex, business-critical IT environment. They are looking for an experienced IT System Engineer to strengthen their infrastructure team and support the stability, performance and evolution of their Windows and virtualisation platforms.

Role Overview: As an IT System Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance and improvement of the organisation’s Microsoft Windows and VMware infrastructure. The position combines day-to-day infrastructure operations with troubleshooting, upgrades, migrations and project-based work across a large enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain Windows Server environments; Administer and support VMware vSphere / ESXi infrastructure; Monitor infrastructure availability, capacity and performance; Troubleshoot complex server, virtualisation and infrastructure incidents; Manage Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS.

Candidate Requirements: Strong professional experience as a System Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer; Excellent knowledge of Windows Server; Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and ESXi; Good knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy; Exposure to Microsoft Azure / hybrid infrastructure is a plus; You are fluent in English.
