The consultancy Wannaflex (contact Blairi Schermer) pitches a Java Developer opportunity for client Buchs AG. The role is Senior Backend Developer, fully remote, working in English on an intra-logistics platform for an American client. The team is small, senior, and technical, with no corporate layers. The technical lead is known and previously placed successfully; the team uses AI extensively for code generation. Core tasks focus on solution design — evaluating approaches, choosing tools, documenting decisions, and writing architectural decision records — rather than writing code, since AI handles code generation. Must-have requirements: strong Java and Spring Boot (full Spring stack), cloud experience (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable), Docker, IaC (Terraform or similar), proven solution design and architectural decision-making, ability to evaluate trade-offs, strong English communication, and a senior mindset. Nice-to-have: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, Testcontainers, logistics/warehousing/supply-chain domain experience, public speaking or knowledge-sharing background, and lead or mentoring experience.
