Laboratory AnimalTechnician

A dedicated organization specializing in scientific research and animal care within a clinical and medical environment. Their focus is to support research studies through high standards of animal management and technical support. We are seeking a detail-oriented Animal Research Support Technician to join a team that provides essential animal care and support for research projects. This role combines direct animal handling with operational tasks to ensure the welfare of the animals and smooth laboratory operations.

Responsibilities: Provide daily animal care in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and study requirements. Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of research supplies. Conduct animal inventories and update identification records. Perform physical exams and grooming of animals, both on-site and off-site, ensuring their health and well-being. Enrich the environment of the animals to promote health and comfort. Validate the proper functioning of equipment used in animal care and research activities.

Support team activities with moderate supervision, identify issues or problems, and escalate when necessary.

Requirements: Minimum of one year experience working with animals. Strong communication and multitasking skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Valid driver's license. AALAS certification preferred, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is preferred. Qualified candidates with a combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.
