Laboratory Automation Specialist

Role Description: The Laboratory Automation Specialist will support laboratory operations by managing the lifecycle of analytical equipment and laboratory systems. The role focuses on equipment introduction, maintenance, decommissioning, documentation, automation support, and continuous improvement of laboratory systems and data processes. You will work within the Lab Operations team, supporting analytical laboratories with equipment lifecycle activities, automation initiatives, and data integrity standards while collaborating with stakeholders across research and development functions.

Responsibilities: Support the introduction, qualification, maintenance, and decommissioning of laboratory equipment; Manage equipment lifecycle documentation and compliance activities; Support laboratory automation systems and software applications; Provide expertise on Empower, Chromeleon, Unifi, ICE3, and related laboratory platforms; Translate user requirements into technical specifications; Ensure systems comply with data integrity and quality standards; Support implementation of new technologies and paperless laboratory initiatives; Assist with New Product Introduction activities and business critical challenges; Troubleshoot technical issues and develop practical solutions; Collaborate with laboratory, quality, and technical stakeholders; Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and standards.

Requirements: Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, or equivalent; Experience or strong affinity with automation and analytical methodologies; Knowledge of laboratory data acquisition and processing software; Experience with database systems; Understanding of GMP quality systems; Strong analytical thinking and technical problem solving skills; Effective stakeholder and communication skills; Ability to work independently and proactively; Strong planning and prioritization skills; Fluency in English; Dutch language skills desirable.
