Omschrijving
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Risk & Change Manager to support a major industrial operation on a contract basis. This position will lead project risk and change management activities, ensuring risks and scope changes are effectively identified, assessed, controlled, and reported to protect cost, schedule, and overall business objectives. Responsibilities include leading the project change management process from initial identification through approval and implementation; evaluating potential changes for cost, schedule, risk, scope, and business impacts; managing project change notices and maintaining accurate change logs within the applicable change management system; ensuring approved changes are incorporated into project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and reporting; identifying out-of-scope changes through design reviews and documenting quantity variances using material take-offs and supporting design documentation; assessing the cost and schedule impacts of design changes, construction changes, cost growth, and schedule slippage; evaluating requests for information, differing site conditions, and proposed process improvements for potential project impacts; leading the project risk management process, including facilitating risk workshops, maintaining risk registers, and assessing probability and impact; developing mitigation plans and reporting project risk exposure to leadership; presenting risk, contingency, change, and forecast information to support strategic decision-making; validating estimated quantities and the cost of materials, equipment, and labour associated with project estimates, change orders, and scope changes; reviewing drawings, sketches, calculations, and other engineering or construction documentation to support change validation; identifying and resolving project controls issues in collaboration with other project controls professionals; supporting the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reports; collaborating with internal departments, external stakeholders, engineering teams, and construction teams; providing shared oversight and support to cost control personnel, as required; and performing additional duties as assigned. Essential skills and knowledge: high school diploma or equivalent with at least 12 years of experience in engineering, construction, project controls, or a related business field; or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline with at least 8 years of project controls experience; demonstrated experience in project risk management, change management, and project controls; experience with cost control, project estimating, forecasting, cost management, and reporting; experience working with ERP systems and project controls software; knowledge of SAP, Primavera P6, and EcoSys is considered an asset; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment; strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support capabilities; experience working within heavy industrial construction environments; knowledge of occupational hazards and safety requirements within construction settings; and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and external organizations.
