Lead PHP Developer – Symfony & Salesforce

Our client, a prominent institution in the higher education sector, is seeking a Lead Developer to spearhead their technical evolution. This role involves guiding a development team through technical coaching while remaining hands-on in the coding, testing, and debugging of complex applications.

Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of developers through technical coaching and guidance. Execute advanced programming tasks including coding, testing, and debugging. Translate business needs into comprehensive functional and technical analyses. Manage the deployment of applications within a DevOps environment. Implement and champion Agile methodologies within the development lifecycle. Ensure high code quality through the use of automated testing frameworks and peer reviews.

Requirements: 5+ years of experience in backend development using Symfony. 5+ years of experience in DevOps environments and production deployments. 3+ years of automated testing using PHPUnit. 3+ years of experience in the development of web-based applications. 1+ years of experience with Salesforce. 1+ years of experience with containerization using Docker. Experience performing functional and technical analysis. Professional experience leading and coaching development teams.

You are proactive and solution-oriented. You are native in Dutch.

Nice to Haves: 3+ years of experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL. Practical knowledge of Agile development methodologies. Experience working within a university or educational context.

Offer: Start date: 01/01/2027.

Duration: 6 months.

Work regime: Full-time.

Location: Brussels.

Working model: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite).

Contract: Open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
