Omschrijving

We are seeking a Lease Operator III to support oil and gas production operations in the Carlsbad, NM area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance preparation of wells, production facilities, processing equipment, and related surface equipment. This role will support oil, gas, and water separation facilities and requires the ability to monitor production processes, identify operating issues, perform basic equipment maintenance, and maintain safe and reliable facility operations. Experience with new facility startup, commissioning, and production operations is highly desirable. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring wells, production facilities, processing units, and related surface equipment; following all company safety procedures; monitoring production equipment and operating conditions including pressure, temperature, level, flow, vibration, and other critical parameters; understanding process flow, equipment lineups, isolation points, and facility safety systems; performing routine field inspections; adjusting local process parameters; issuing and managing Safe Work Permits; performing gas testing; monitoring tanks, meters, chemical injection systems, valves, pumps, compressors, separators, and other production equipment; accurately recording production data; identifying leaks, freezing, overheating, and other production issues; performing basic equipment maintenance; inspecting safety equipment; coordinating oil sales and saltwater hauling; communicating operating conditions to the Production Foreman; performing seasonal preparation; using electronic testing equipment and computer-based monitoring systems; maintaining assigned company vehicle; supporting continuous improvement initiatives; following environmental policies; and working independently when required. Required qualifications include previous experience in a closely related oil and gas production operations position, a college degree or trade school certificate, experience operating and maintaining surface equipment, ability to work rotating schedules, ability to respond to call-outs, ability to use computers and production monitoring systems, good written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with a diverse multicultural team, strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance, ability to lift more than 50 pounds and safely climb ladders and stairways, and ability to use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), gas detectors, and other equipment. Essential skills include experience with oil, gas, and water separation facilities, production facility startup or commissioning, operating new production facilities, process monitoring and production optimization, work permitting and gas testing, and upstream oil and gas operations. Work schedule is 8 days on / 6 days off, 10 hour day shifts. Closing: September 19, 2026. Vacancy reference: TR-296268.
