Machine Learning Engineer / Data Scientist (Freelance possible)

This is a Data Scientist / ML Engineer role within the context of judicial investigation and the fight against serious and organized crime. The role is operational where data science and AI solutions support tactical and business needs with high impact. As a Data Scientist, you contribute to the design, development and industrialization of AI and data science solutions. You are responsible for setting up machine learning pipelines, their supervision and maintenance, and for deploying AI models, mainly in on-premise environments.

Responsibilities include: designing and developing AI and data science solutions, setting up and maintaining robust ML pipelines, monitoring and continuous improvement of models, applying good programming and MLOps practices, designing end-to-end ML architectures, working with large-scale structured and unstructured data, implementing CI/CD processes for models, and continuous technological watch. A sensitivity to security, ethics and legal compliance is appreciated.

Your profile: you have a master or PhD in computer science, AI or equivalent, and at least 3 years of experience in data science, MLOps and machine learning. You bring expertise in several of the following domains: development and deployment of AI solutions in on-premise and cloud, machine learning, MLOps and big data, solid theoretical foundations in ML and deep learning, mastery of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Neo4j, Milvus), demonstrable experience in deploying ML models and MLOps industrialization, good practice of containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes and Kubeflow, mastery of ML pipeline tools like Kubeflow, MLflow, implementation of CI/CD chains for ML models, experience with data storage solutions like data lakes, data warehouses and S3 object storage, ability to design a complete end-to-end ML system.

Technical skills: Python (R is a plus), databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Milvus, frameworks and AI/ML tools: Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLflow, sklearn, OpenCV, vllm, containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, software engineering: uv, ruff, black, cloud: Azure and AWS, versioning: Git, GitHub, GitLab and model versioning via MLflow.

Languages: you master at least English and one of the two national languages: French or Dutch.

Soft skills: ability to bring together varied profiles, sense of priorities, clear communication, analytical spirit, constructive collaboration, attention to detail, rigor.
