Maintenance Engineer

Position: Maintenance Engineer at Johnson & Johnson Vision in Groningen, Netherlands.

Duration: 9 months, hours: 40 per week.

The role: As a Maintenance Engineer, you are at the heart of the continuous improvement of the maintenance strategy of our installations in Groningen. At Johnson&Johnson Vision, we are working on a comprehensive Asset Management program and are faced with the challenge of taking our organisation and facilities to the next level. In this challenging position, you will advise the organisation on which maintenance strategy best suits the installations and machines, and you will be actively involved in the implementation of an inventory management system, the development and implementation of maintenance concepts and plans.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you are a specialist who brings together technology, reliability and maintenance. You analyse, advise and initiate improvements that contribute to higher availability and reliability of our installations.

Roles and responsibilities: Setting up and implementing an inventory management system for the management of spare parts; Developing, improving and implementing maintenance strategies and maintenance concepts; Organising and optimising preventive maintenance in collaboration with the Technical Services, Engineering and Manufacturing departments; Applying maintenance methods such as RCA, FMECA and Life Cycle Costing; Analysing maintenance and production data to identify opportunities for improvement; Monitoring technical performance and preventing repetitive failures; Actively participate in improvement projects and the development of innovative trouble shooting guides; Work closely with maintenance technicians, engineers and manufacturing.

How to succeed: A completed technical college education; Experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Reliability Engineer or a similar position; Knowledge of maintenance methodologies and asset management within a production environment; An analytical and entrepreneurial professional who likes to take ownership and knows how to take people along in improvements; A clear vision of predictable and value-driven maintenance; Strong analytical skills and a structured working method; Good communication skills in both Dutch and English; A proactive attitude and the ability to connect different disciplines.
