Maintenance Engineer Mechanical

Location: Zuid-Holland. As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities: providing technical expertise, implementing reliability best practices and optimizing preventive maintenance tasks; leading Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) investigations; supporting the maintenance execution team with technical guidance; providing technical support during emergency repairs and plant interventions; providing technical knowledge and specifications for new and replacement equipment, including during start-up; responsible for implementing Preventive Maintenance plans and determining Spare Parts Strategies based on asset performance and compliance requirements; reviewing feedback from routine maintenance activities and inspections and preparing proposals for corrective actions and improvements; supporting and, where required, leading repairs and modifications in the plant; providing day-to-day technical support to the maintenance execution team to ensure effective delivery of maintenance tasks; acting as a key participant in Reliability Improvement programs; performing second-level troubleshooting of field equipment issues and supporting significant equipment overhauls; developing, implementing and continuously improving corrosion management programs; developing the annual Preventive Maintenance plan in cooperation with the Reliability Engineer and in line with asset performance targets; working with Project Engineers to ensure the maintainability and reliability of newly installed or modified equipment; acting as owner of the Mechanical Turnaround (TA) scope per area and executing discovery scoping; preparing Fact Sheets for equipment replacement or renewal; acting as Mechanical Design Authority.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; knowledge and understanding of engineering practices and principles relating to mechanical equipment; knowledge of fixed equipment design, installation and maintenance, including tanks, vessels and piping; knowledge of rotating equipment design, installation and maintenance; knowledge and understanding of predictive technologies, including vibration monitoring, thermography, lubrication analysis and ultrasonic testing; expert knowledge of Root Cause Problem Solving and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA); basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma is an advantage; minimum 5–8 years of Operations & Maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment; proven planning and coordination skills.
