Strong command of English for communication purposes
Willingness to visit suppliers and production facilities when needed
Residency in the Netherlands and eligibility for export-controlled technology access
Familiarity with metallic and composite materials, bonding and joining techniques or material qualification
Bachelor's or Master's qualification in Materials Engineering, Materials Science or a comparable discipline
A minimum of 3 years' relevant background in materials engineering, production processes or material testing

Profiel van de geschikte interim professional:

- Bachelor's or Master's qualification in Materials Engineering, Materials Science or a comparable discipline

- A minimum of 3 years' relevant background in materials engineering, production processes or material testing

- Familiarity with metallic and composite materials, bonding and joining techniques or material qualification

- Exposure to lab testing and failure analysis counts as a benefit

- Familiarity with databases and digital tools is regarded as a plus

- Experience in the space industry and knowledge of ECSS standards are strong advantages

- Strong command of English for communication purposes; Dutch is not a requirement

- Residency in the Netherlands and eligibility for export-controlled technology access

- Willingness to visit suppliers and production facilities when needed

Taken & verantwoordelijkheden:

As Materials and Processes Engineer you support engineering teams on material and process topics for space projects.

- Advise on material choice, manufacturing processes and qualification routes for space hardware.

- Support testing, verification and failure analysis of materials.

- Investigate non-conformances and contribute to root cause and corrective action work.

- Coordinate lab tests and draft technical reporting.

- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and use of digital tools and databases.

- Monitor compliance with technical requirements and ECSS standards.

- Visit suppliers and production sites to review processes and assist manufacturing.

- Work together with engineers, suppliers and customers to solve technical issues.
