We are hiring an experienced Mechanical Technician for a workshop-based opportunity in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and inspection of gas turbines, steam turbines, turbo compressors, and reciprocating compressors. This role involves working in a modern rotating equipment service facility, supporting precision repair and refurbishment activities. Responsibilities include performing dismantling, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing of rotating equipment; carrying out maintenance and overhaul of gas turbines, steam turbines, turbo compressors, and reciprocating compressors; diagnosing equipment failures and recommending appropriate repair solutions; performing dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, dial gauges, and bore gauges; supporting reverse engineering activities for worn or damaged components; reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and repair procedures; preparing inspection reports and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation; working closely with machinists and engineering teams during repair and refurbishment activities; ensuring all work is completed in accordance with quality standards, safety procedures, and workshop best practices; and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and reliability. Qualifications include a Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, minimum 10 years of experience in rotating equipment maintenance and repair, hands-on experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, turbo compressors, and reciprocating compressors, strong understanding of mechanical fitting, assembly, disassembly, and overhaul techniques, experience using precision measuring instruments for inspection and quality control, knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD software is preferred, good understanding of workshop safety standards and maintenance best practices, and proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation. Essential skills include rotating equipment maintenance, gas turbine repair, steam turbine overhaul, turbo compressor maintenance, reciprocating compressor repair, mechanical assembly & disassembly, precision measurement, dimensional inspection, reverse engineering support, engineering drawing interpretation, technical troubleshooting, and teamwork & communication.
