MS Azure Senior Data Engineer

A major Belgian insurer in Brussels is expanding its Data Management capacity around the enterprise data warehouse and data lake. As MS Azure Senior Data Engineer, you analyse requirements, design and build performant ETL pipelines with Azure Data Factory / mapping Data Flow and PySpark in Databricks, and keep daily exploitation runs healthy. Responsibilities include analysing functional requirements and designing performant Azure ETL solutions, implementing and maintaining pipelines with Data Factory / mapping Data Flow and PySpark in Databricks, preparing and executing testing, bug-fixing issues in daily exploitation runs, and contributing to data governance and tooling.

Required business experience: analytics use cases (2-5 years, mandatory).

Functional experience: database modelling via tools such as Erwin or Visio (mandatory), gathering business requirements and translating them into functional and technical requirements (mandatory). Technical experience (all mandatory, 2-5 years): cloud data platform in Azure (Data Lake Gen2, Synapse), DevOps (Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration / Delivery), Databricks and Azure Data Factory / Data Flow, Python and data management (metadata, lineage, data quality), Power BI and semantic data modelling.

Language requirements: English (mandatory, fluent), Dutch or French fluent (not mandatory per language but a combination likely required).

Soft skills: work independently and collaboratively, solution-driven, proactive, flexible. Start date ASAP, duration 12 months with extension possible. Estimated daily rate 560-680 EUR.

Education: Master's degree in Informatics or equivalent through experience.
