Network Connectivity Engineer – International

Design, implement and support secure connectivity in an isolated (air-gapped) cloud environment for classified, high-assurance workloads, with a focus on OCI, FastConnect/IPsec and Cisco LAN/firewall. Our client provides a secure, off-premises cloud capability, based on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The solution is physically and logically air-gapped, with no live connectivity to the public cloud, and is designed for classified, high-assurance workloads.

Oracle is the technology subcontractor and Cisco the network hardware partner.

Role focus: Network engineers - FastConnect/IPsec, Cisco LAN & firewall, secure connectivity.

Key responsibilities: Engineer secure connectivity between the isolated cloud and two HQ network segments; implement/support Oracle FastConnect and end-to-end IPsec encryption over private links; support Cisco LAN, firewall and isolated on-site network components; support separate out-of-band management connectivity and secure site-to-site operations.

Environment & technologies: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), air-gapped / isolated cloud environment, Terraform / Infrastructure as Code, Zero Trust security model, classified / high-assurance workloads, Oracle FastConnect, IPsec, Cisco LAN and firewall, out-of-band management.

Clearance & delivery model: NATO Secret (NS) clearance is required and cleared, OCI-experienced profiles have the highest priority. A hybrid delivery model is being considered, with the possibility of partially non-NS-cleared personnel for suitable roles. Priority remains with NS-cleared candidates.

Duration & timing: The engagement is a 12-month prototype. Heavy build activity is concentrated in approximately the first 6-7 months, followed by accreditation and test/run activities through month 12.

Must-haves: NATO Secret (NS) clearance is required; experience with secure connectivity; experience with Oracle FastConnect; experience with end-to-end IPsec encryption over private links; experience with Cisco LAN and firewall; experience with out-of-band management; experience with an air-gapped / isolated cloud environment; experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI); experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code; experience with the Zero Trust security model; experience with classified / high-assurance workloads.
